Introduction

The tribe Apatophyseini Lacordaire, 1869 currently contains ~280 species in >30 genera. Photographs of 26 exemplar specimens are currently available for this tribe.

Diagnostic Features of Adults

Mesoscutum with undivided stridulatory file. Mandible moderately elongate. Base of prothorax distinctly narrower than elytral bases. Procoxal cavities externally open. Mesotarsus with 4 distinct tarsomeres and reduced penultimate one (pseudotetramerous). Prothoracic trochantin or pleurotrochantin at least partly exposed. Lateral pronotal carinae absent. Ratio of elytral length to pronotal length 3.05-4.88. Exposed portion of metepisternum moderately elongate; or very long and narrow or absent. Prosternal process parallel-sided; or gradually expanded or narrowed and then expanded. Head not abruptly constricted posteriorly (Lawrence, 2007).
